I've flown for the better part of my career and I value every hour spent on a plane...
I enjoyed countless laughters and met amazing people while working in 5 different countries. I became a team leader, a coach and learned a lot about effective communication and working in an international environment

Riding a bike is inexplicable to someone who has never tried it. It's a love or hate relationship after the first attempt and I fell into the former category

I also love cycling, a very relaxing activity and the most efficent way to get around in a city too
I enjoy other sports too
Exercise has always been part of my life and from swimming to horseback riding I have tried many sports. Nowadays though, I like hitting the gym to stay in shape
I love to travel, hiking and city visits alike
... because exploring new places is great
I am a passionate hobby cook
I really appreciate culinary art and quality dining thus enjoy cooking myself too
I am also a computer and tech geek and love to build custom PCs
Designing and building a custom computer is a challenging but also rewarding experience
Crunching numbers with Python made it to my toplist too, regression models and hypothesis testing being my favourite topics
...just as writing code
If I still have some time (and money...) left, I immerse myself in an enormous LEGO set
I do not design my own LEGO builds, but truly enjoying the cleverly engineered features of these collector sets

Carbon Emissions Analysis
- Project Summary: I acquired the dataset from nature.com and looked into the answer a few interesting questions about carbon footprints of different industries
- Tools used: I used a PostgreSQL integration into an online workspace platform
- Challenges I faced: This was an early SQL-only project of mine and as such I had improve my SQL-fluency to answer my questions quicker
- What I learned: I got more fluent with SQL and gained better understanding of subqueries and wild characters for filtering
Investigating a Sudden Drop in Conversion Rates
- Project Summary: Creating pipeline functions for extracting KPI reports (conversion and retention rates) from a month of marketing records and investigating a communication bug and its impact
- Tools used: I used python (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn)
- Challenges I faced: getting the right figures for the KPIs from the pipeline functions took some time to polish
- What I learned: I learned a lot about extracting marketing KPIs, segmentation and how to investigate possible issues
Analysing New Product Line Success
- Project Summary: The dataset was collected from datacamp.com and was used after validation to determine the most successful marketing channel for a new product line
- Tools used: I used Python to clean, validate and explore the data (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, statsmodels)
- Challenges I faced: One of the main tasks was finding a reliable metric to measure normalized performance across all channels
- What I learned: While this time I was fairly experienced with thhe libraries I have used I still gained invaluable insights of measuring performance and creating metrics to be used as KPIs
Finding the Best Sector for Entering the Stock Market
- Project Summary: Following an article about stock market returns, I looked into SP500 records to find the sector with the most unicorn companies in recent years
- Tools used: I used a PostgreSQL integration into an online workspace platform
- Challenges I faced: The data contained multiple tables and as such required careful planning of JOINs and subqueries to find what I was interested at
- What I learned: I got more confident using multiple JOINs, CTEs and/or subqueries to get answers to complex questions requiring the combination of these techniqes
Dashboard of Training&Development KPIs
- Project summary: I was tasked by the training department to develop a structured way to record, store and implement an interactive, scaleable dashboard of the training data
- Tools used: Ms Excel, SQL
- Challenges I faced: The final product had to be downward compatible to Excel 2019, thus no dynamic filters could have been used for the dashboard
- What I learned: I have gained better understanding of indexing and offseting formulas used as alternatives to dynamic filters available only from Excel 2021

- Project summary: I used a lego dataset and extended it with new data scraped from the web then made a concise presentation of how LEGO evolved over the last 70 years.
- Tools used: Python (pandas, numpy, beautifulsoup), SQL, Tableau, Google Slides
- Challenges I faced: It took me some time to oversee the structure of the SQL schema and to find what type of JOINs get me the results I want
- What I learned: I understand the structure of html better and got better at storytelling and also that we could build a LEGO tower to the moon...
